Project: Foreign and Commonwealth Office

Client: Crown

Our first commission comprised a major refurbishment of the Foreign Office in Whitehall. The work included a temporary accommodation block and structural alterations of the Grade 1 listed fabric designed by George Gilbert Scott. We are also currently working on a new fire alarm system and teaching space project at present.

Project: Parliamentary Works Directorate

Client: Crown

We were proud to have acted as Approved Inspector for the Palace of Westminster for 10 years. The major refurbishment of Millbank Island, including recent additional alterations, was our last project.

The Ragged School Museum

Project: The Ragged School Museum

Client: The Ragged School Museum Trust

The Ragged School Museum is a museum in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and was opened in 1990 and the school opened in 1877 to serve the children of Mile End with a basic education and was the largest of its kind at the time. It closed in 1908 when sufficient government/London County Council schools had been established to take over the work.

The museum is housed in three canal side warehouses at 46–50 Copperfield Road and the buildings were saved from demolition in the 1980s by residents and a trust set up to manage the property in 1990. In 2016 it was awarded a £4.3m restoration grant by the Heritage Lottery Fund and we acted as Approved Inspectors for the project.
