We are delighted to have recently won this commission to help our client, Octavia expand the current space at their head office, Emily House. As their Approved Inspector, we will be working closely with TM Architects on this project providing Building Control services during the improvements to the office facilities.

Works will include the construction of a small single storey extension along with internal alterations to Octavia’s office premises located on Kensal Road, next to the Grand Union Canal, North Kensington in London. The works are on the ground level on the north side of the building and the addition will include the installation of a green roof, extensively glazed elevations, helping to maximise daylight and making the most of the views. They anticipate that once the works are complete it will greatly improve the working environment for staff on a daily basis but also to provide additional meeting room capacity for residents and others who regularly visit at their head office.

Octavia are a not-for-profit organisation providing thousands of people with affordable homes, care and community services in inner London. Founded by Octavia Hill, the Victorian Philanthropist, Octavia aims to continue her legacy by building good homes and providing opportunities for people to live better, happier lives.

“This is the first project we will be working on for Octavia Housing along with TM Architects. We have been involved from the early stages and will be undertaking Plan Assessment of the scheme and Project Manager for the project through to completion. We are looking forward to working with the design team on this exiting project and for such a great not-for-profit organisation.”
