Approved Inspector for over 23 years working with commercial clients

For the last 23 years, we have championed compliance in construction by providing building control services across England and Wales. Founded in 1996 by Simon Polley in Chelmsford, Essex, we were one of the first three Approved Inspectors permitted to undertake the Building Control role on commercial projects.

In 2017, with a view to increase growth we became part of a group of companies partly owned by CEPS Plc. Due to their AIM Listed status, we are now subject to robust financial audits to ensure compliance.

Hickton Group Ltd is the holding company comprising the four individual businesses within the group – BRCS (Building Control) Ltd, Hickton Consultants Ltd, Cook Brown Building Control Ltd and Cook Brown Energy Ltd. Each business remains independent to each other and you can continue to appoint the individual companies directly for the core service which they provide, but with added value of the group key strengths.

The enhanced Group structure continues our ambition to be a leading multi-disciplinary provider of quality inspection and consultancy services in the construction sector. Being able to provide independent services, Building Control Services, Quality Site Inspection and Energy Consultancy is a unique service to us.

Whilst contractually these services remain separate to one another, we can effectively co-ordinate a service which champions quality, compliance and sustainability in construction to benefit your project.

Being part of the Group means that there is financial strength, greater project opportunities, stronger technical expertise & personnel and wider geographic coverage across the UK.
