Works were completed last year on Stone House Hospital in Dartford, Kent, originally constructed between 1862 and 1866 and historically providing for destitute mentally ill patients from the London area. The former hospital has been re-developed by Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust by conversion into a sparkling new Mother and Baby unit officially re-opening in September 2018.

We acted as their Approved Inspector providing building control services directly to Forest Gate Construction, a long-established, privately owned building contractor operating within London and the South East.

The facility will enable and empower mothers in all stages of their perinatal journey in collaboration with their families.

“We were delighted to be supporting Forest Gate Construction on this project, advising on Building Regulation advice. The completed facility looks great and is making a real difference across the counties of Kent, Surrey and Sussex”.

Group Managing Director, Tony Mobbs
